Mark Your Calendars: Date Set for 2013 Digital Content NewFronts

Online video’s answer to the television upfronts concluded with a cameo by Jay-Z and an homage to New York City at YouTube’s Brandcast at Manhattan’s Beacon Theater on May 2, 2012. The two-week-long marathon that Young Hov closed out was the first annual Digital Content Newfronts (aka DCNF), and featured Sean Carter in addition to a slew of other celebrity spokespeople who pimped their online video products to rooms full of advertisers and brands on behalf of major online video distribution platforms. Yahoo, Microsoft, Hulu, and AOL joined YouTube as founding partners of the program, all of which was orchestrated by integrated advertising agency Digitas.

You can check out Tubefilter’s comprehensive coverage from all the events here (which includes shots of John Legend, Michael Eisner, manicures, and more) if you’d like to review and/or relive all the DCNF presentations and parties. And if those articles whet your appetite for more advertising and online video entertainment oriented events, you’ll now know when to book your tickets to New York City for the next round.

Digitas just announced the timing for 2013 Digital Content Newfronts. The second annual installment will take place the week of April 29 in New York City. There’s no word yet on the programming lineup, but expect to see the original founders back with shiny presentations joined by at least a handful of new media studios and distribution companies that have grown significantly since the first annual events.
