Media conglomerate Viacom is continuing its digital acquisition spree with the purchase of Pluto TV -- a free streaming platform with more than 100 channels that’s available as a mobile app on both iOS and Android as well as most smart TV devices, including Roku, Apple TV, and Sony PlayStation consoles.

Today at IAB's Digital Content NewFronts West, Viacom announced its plans to storm social media with new slates of programming across YouTube, Twitter, and Snapchat. It also announced plans for teen/tween-focused network AwesomenessTV, which Viacom acquired in July.

Viacom Names AwesomenessTV Co-Founder Brian Robbins President Of Nickelodeon
Viacom has named longtime entertainment executive Brian Robbins the new president of massive kids’ network Nickelodeon, effective immediately. Robbins will be moving to Nickelodeon from his current film production position, where part of his work involved developing co-branded Nickelodeon and Paramount features.
