Viacom Announces Online Video Gathering VidCon Will Come To London In 2019

The world’s largest online video gathering is singing “vlog save the queen.” VidCon, the event series now owned by Viacom, will organize a meeting of creators and fans in London. The event is scheduled to take place between February 14-17, 2019, at the ExCeL Center in the UK’s capital city.

Viacom, which acquired VidCon in February of this year, announced the expansion of the popular conference during its presentation at the NewFronts in New York. Hank Green, who founded VidCon alongside his brother John and currently serves as the company’s Chairman, was in attendance and made the expansion announcement at the NewFronts event.

After inaugurating its flagship conference in Anaheim in 2010, VidCon has recently expanded its reach by launching several other events around the globe. An event branded as VidCon Europe has taken place in Amsterdam in each of the past two years, with its most recent iteration running between March 22-24, 2018. In the Southern Hemisphere, a September 2017 festival in Melbourne brought VidCon to Australia, where it will return later this year.

Meanwhile, the Anaheim edition of VidCon continues to draw thousands of attendees as it heads into its ninth year of existence. The 2018 edition of that meet-up, which will bring creators, fans, executives, and media members to the Anaheim Convention Center outside of Los Angeles, is expected to begin on June 20.
