Snapchat is offering $10,000 to the biggest NFL superfan it can find

All of the major social video platforms are rolling out Super Bowl initiatives, and Snapchat is no exception. The app known for its disappearing content will be busy during the second Sunday of February. Its Super Bowl slate includes new Lenses, new getups for Bitmoji characters, and two Spotlight Challenges that seek out NFL superfans.

The varsity jackets modeled by the Bitmojis pictured above are designed by Jeff Hamilton. If you prefer to dress up your own body rather than your digital avatar, you can also buy a meatspace version of the jacket via the NFL shop.

The Bitmoji threads aren’t the only cosmetic updates that have hit Snap in time for the Super Bowl. As the app continues to buy into augmented reality, it is adding new filters to its AR Lenses. Fans can try on virtual jerseys to support the Eagles or Chiefs, turn their likeness into a bobblehead, or check out a Lens version of Arizona’s State Farm Stadium, which will host this year’s Big Game.

Snapchat Spotlight’s contributions to the app’s Super Bowl bonanza are titled #NFLSuperFan and #SuperBowlSnacks. The first contest offers a prize of $10,000, which will go to a diehard gridiron fanatic. If you like the Super Bowl for the food rather than the football, the latter Challenge will split $5,000 among users of Snap’s TikTok competitor. #NFLSuperFan opened on February 3, while #SuperBowlSnacks kicked off on February 5.

These initiatives are built on top of Snap’s preexisting partnership with the NFL. As the U.S. catches football fever, special episodes of NFL Extra Point and NFL Audible will hit Stories pages across Snapchat. The NFL Highlights channel will also dish out vertical videos before, during, and after the Big Game.

According to Snapchat, 18 million North American users watched Super Bowl content on the app during last year’s game. In total, Snapchat counts 600 million monthly active users and 375 million daily active users.
