Digital Video Veteran Lauren Schnipper Joins Jellysmack As VP Of Creator Business Development (Exclusive)

Former Facebook executive Lauren Schnipper has joined global creator company Jellysmack as vice president of creator business development.

Jellysmack, which was founded in 2016, works with more than 100 digital creators to distribute their original content across Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube. Its roster–including YouTubers Brad Mondo (6.52 million subscribers), Bailey Sarian (3.37M), and Charles & Alyssa Forever (1.62M)–collectively has 125+ million followers and nets 10 billion views per month, the company says.

Schnipper is a digital video veteran who’s led creator partnership teams at Facebook, Next 10 VenturesStir, and, most recently, Teespring. She also produced the pilot episode of Cartoon Network’s The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, based on the Annoying Orange YouTube series, and is an advisor to VidCon.

At Jellysmack, Schnipper will spearhead its “effort in identifying and evaluating potential partnerships, products and technologies to grow its offerings for creators,” the company says. She will focus on adding tools for things like content production, audience-building, and monetization.

“More than ever, creators need trusted partners that deliver results, and Jellysmack has proven that’s what they do time and time again,” Schnipper said in a statement. “I’m truly excited to join a company that shares my passion for identifying new technologies to add value for creators.”

In his own statement, Jellysmack cofounder Michael Phillippe noted that Schnipper’s “experience working closely with creators for platforms and as a producer makes her uniquely adept at evaluating new technologies and products that will help creators unlock their full potential.”

Schnipper currently hosts Planet Upload, a weekly podcast about the creator ecosystem, with Tubefilter cofounder and COO Josh Cohen. You can check out their episode about Facebook creator monetization here, and listen to the latest episode below.
