FaZe Clan, TalentX vets unite for new venture that combines management with content creation

A group of veteran online video execs are Fixated on creators and their professional concerns. That’s the name of a new company that exists as a hybrid between a talent management firm and a content studio.

The co-founders of Fixated are experienced operators within the creator economy. CEO Zach Katz was formerly the President and COO of FaZe Clan, and Fixated President Jason Wilhelm comes to the company after previously working with creator groups like Sway House as the co-founder of management firm TalentX. Another TalentX vet, Dean Johnson, is on board as the Chief Studio Officer of the new venture. The fourth Fixated co-founder is Luc Boulch, a creator who will take on the Chief Content Officer role.

Fixated has been operating quietly since last year and has already built an impressive group of creator partners. The names on its talent roster include sports-loving streamer Sketch, the chess-playing Botez Sisters, and the pranksters/sketch comedians/public interviewers of Love Live Serve.

The creators who are working with Fixated are not the only notables who are involved with the new company. Beyond its co-founders, its executive team includes a few familiar faces: Ali Adab, whose experience includes stints with BroadbandTV and SoleSavy, has joined Fixated as its Chief Growth Officer. He will work alongside Chief Operating Officer Phil Ranta

, who has held positions at numerous creator-oriented companies.

This well-traveled executive team is combining multiple services under one roof. Fixated will provide talent management services for its creator roster while also working with them on original content. Fixated also has big plans in the gaming world; it has already created experiences in games like Roblox and Fortnite.

“Our goal with Fixated is to elevate what can be expected from the digital entertainment ecosystem and help creators build commercial value that matches their undeniable cultural impact,” Katz said in a statement. “Digital entertainment has entered its next era and at the heart of it is a generation of savvy creators and fans who are demanding a greater value exchange. Our advantage in launching Fixated today is our ability to offer this evolved value proposition to creators and fans from day one.”

The first pieces of content to emerge from the Fixated studio have already posted strong results. The company says that it has launched more than 20 shows and channels so far, and its in-game content has received 250 million plays so far.
