Storybooth Animates Teens’ Tales On YouTube. Now It’s Expanding To Spotify.

Crowdsourced storytelling platform Storybooth, which creates animated YouTube videos based on stories submitted by anonymous teens and young adults, has signed a deal with Wheelhouse DNA and Parcast to turn its tales into a daily Spotify Original podcast.

Storybooth got its start on YouTube in 2015, and to date has animated 250 audio clips chronicling teens’ and young adults’ struggles with everything from racism to toxic friend groups to realizing your parents aren’t that great to pregnancy scares to the full gamut of high school faux pas.

The company’s channel counts 4.55 million subscribers and currently nets around 4 million views per month.

The Storybooth Daily podcast will similarly feature real-life stories that give “an intimate look into the issues that affect young people everywhere,” a representative tells Tubefilter

.

Hosted by Billboard, NBC, and BET correspondent and producer Jordyn Rolling, the show will chat with teens to “provide all sorts of diverse, personal perspectives” about “the challenges and joys of teenage life–no topic is off the table.”

The series’ first episode premieres on Spotify today, and from now on new episodes will premiere every weekday.

Storybooth Daily is produced by Wheelhouse DNA, the influencer content division of Brent Montgomery and Jimmy Kimmel’s media company Wheelhouse, and Parcast, the podcast studio Spotify acquired for a reported $100 million in 2019.

Fanny Baudry and Ed Simpson will executive produce for Wheelhouse DNA, Marcy Kaye will executive produce for Storybooth, and Max Cutler is executive producing for Parcast.
