TikTok Testing New Platform To Connect Gen Z Job Seekers With Prospective Employers

TikTok is testing a new service that would allow the buzzy video app to concurrently function as a jobs marketplace.

The pilot program aims to help companies looking to find Gen Z employees as well as candidates to find jobs.

The platform lives on a separate web page that is accessible via the TikTok app, reports Axios, where brands can post job listings — most of which are entry-level positions. Additionally, users can post TikTok video resumes to the site, serving an elevator pitch of sorts, as well as a summary of their previous work experience. TikTok is also asking job seekers to post their video resumes on their TikTok profiles to get the word out about the new service.

Axios reports that the feature is being tested among a beta group of companies, with others — including major sports leagues — having inquired about participation.

The jobs feature was reportedly born after TikTok execs spotted a Washington Post article detailing the ways in which users were increasingly using TikTok to share career advice.
