PBS Digital Studios, Endemol Beyond Added To Newfronts Lineup

In February, the IAB announced the 21 online video companies who will present at the 2014 Digital Content Newfronts, which will take place between April 28-May 8 in New York. With fewer than three weeks to go until the event, the IAB has added two more presenters–PBS Digital Studios and Endemol Beyond–to the Newfronts lineup.

Endemol Beyond’s presentation will fill the 6-8 pm slot on Friday, May 2nd and will be many attendees’ first look at a relatively new player in the multi-channel network industry. Endemol Beyond, which has approximately $40 million in funding behind it, has only announced a few major projects, but we’re particularly excited to hear more details about SHFTY, a new YouTube channel that will star four of Vine’s most popular users.

In contrast, PBS Digital Studios has spent

the last few years adding high-quality web series to its repertoire, and according to PBSDS senior director Matt Graham, the studio’s Newfronts presentation will serve as “a sort of introduction to the world.” Advertisers will find a lot of like in intelligent, slick programs like PBS Idea Channel, Blank on Blank, It’s OK To Be Smart, and The Art Assignment. PBSDS will also buttress its existing library by introducing a few new channels during its Newfronts presentation, which will go down on Monday, May 5th between 12-2 pm.

Rumors have already flown about the Newfronts strategies of several companies, including YouTube and Yahoo; both Endemol Beyond and PBSDS are worthwhile additions to the lineup, and we’re expecting substantial announcements from both of them.
