Americans Watched 26.8 Billion Online Video Ads Last Month

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for any individual or business entity benefiting from marketers’ mad advertising dashes to capture the disposable incomes of holiday shoppers. Online video advertising is up.

The November data in comScore’s monthly U.S. Online Video Rankings indicate while the number of total online video viewers in the country dipped (from 49.1 billion to 47.1 billion), the number of video ads viewed actually increased. Americans watched 26.8 billion online video ads during the 30 days of the month, a 9.4% increase over October’s 24.5 billion.

AOL and its associated properties accounted for almost 4 billion of the 26.8 billion video ads viewed in the month, with Google’s YouTube close behind at 3.6 billion. Hulu was the only other video destination site within the Top 10 for most video ads viewed. The free and pay-per-month premium video streaming service ended up in eighth place after serving more than 1.4 billion ads in the month.
