Kick is going wide with its Creator Incentive Program, which lets streamers keep 95% of revenue

If Kick is the casino of the online video world, its community is about to hit the jackpot. The ascendant Twitch rival has widened the scope of its Kick Creator Incentive Program, which is now available for all streamers.

The Creator Incentive Program, which first arrived shortly after Kick’s December 2022 launch, works a little different from equivalent revenue-sharing agreements offered by platforms like Twitch. Rather than splitting generated revenue with its creators, Kick is paying Incentive Program recipients a fixed hourly rate. The size of those payments goes up as streamers accrue more followers and watch time.

For subscription revenue, Kick is giving 95% of earnings to creators, which is a more favorable cut than Twitch’s deal. “Simply put, Kick values and rewards both your creative prowess and your entrepreneurial spirit,” reads an FAQ on the Creator Incentive Program homepage. “The more you build your community the bigger the revenue.”

Kick piloted the Creator Incentive Program alongside a select group of streamers, some of whom, like ZombieBarricades and  Schlump, have broken into the top tier of Kick broadcasters. The Stake.com

-affiliated platform has stacked its new incentives on top of the serious earnings it already generates, which has helped it cultivate a dedicated community of homegrown stars to complement its high-profile signees.

Andrew Santamaria, the Head of Strategic Partnerships at Kick, has been one of the execs leading the development of the Creator Incentive Program. On LinkedIn, he celebrated the program’s public rollout. “After months of testing with incredible Kick Creators the Kick Creator Incentive Program launches to all streamers,” Santamaria wrote. “This program is the start of a renaissance not only in live-streaming but how media is consumed for the next generation.”

T0 qualify for Creator Incentive Program membership, streamers must abide by Kick’s rules and have their channel verified. Typical benchmarks for Program entry include 1,500 subscribers and 500 monthly chatters, but Kick notes that those rules “are subject to modification.” If you believe your account deserves to level up its monetization, you can reach out to Kick directly.
