Trendpop brings its analytics suite to the common creator

Since launching in 2020, Trendpop has provided its clients with a platform that purports to reveal the secrets of social media virality. As of October 19, the firm’s suite is now available to the masses.

Trendpop has launched a self-serve version of its predictive platform. Users who purchase a Trendpop subscription for their own channels will be able to analyze their short-form videos and recognize the trends that are bubbling up on apps like TikTok and Instagram. The “Starter” version of Trendpop currently costs $250 per month, though plans with custom prices and features are advertised as well.

Though that’s a significant price, Trendpop backs up its insights with some deep and detailed number-crunching. According to a press release, the Trendpop database includes 170 million creators, 90 million sounds, 40 million hashtags, and over two billion videos, with millions of new videos added each date. Those data points are combined with proprietary AI technology to identify viral trends just before they blow up.

The creator tech company Collab acquired Trendpop earlier this year for an undisclosed sum. Initially, Collab positioned Trendpop as a useful tool for its brand partners, but the multi-faceted company also works closely with individual creators. The expanded version of Trendpop will allow those influencers to benefit from research that was previously limited to brands, record labels, and marketing agencies.

“With the launch of self-serve, we’re thrilled that Trendpop is more accessible than ever before to the brands and marketers working within the Creator Economy,” said Collab Co-Founder Tyler McFadden in a statement. “Trendpop continues to solidify its status as a must-have tool for any company that needs to keep pace with the culture on TikTok.”

Though Collab has acquired Trendpop, the subsidiary company continues to operate as a separate entity. It is led by its Co-Founders Yoav Zimmerman and Yoni Ben-tzur.
