Collab acquires Trendpop to help make ads go viral on TikTok

Creator platform Collab has today announced the acquisition of influencer marketing upstart Trendpop.

Trendpop, founded by former engineers from Google and PinterestYoav Zimmerman and Jonathan Ben-tzur – helps brands discover creators and trends on TikTok, and then furnishes insights to help build campaigns. The service also features a customized dashboard for measurement purposes.

The financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed, and Trendpop will continue to function as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Collab.  Zimmerman and Ben-tzur will continue in their respective CEO and CTO roles.

Collab, for its part, operates several different divisions. Collab Brands, its creative agency, has executed upwards of 600 ad campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, while its Collab Creators talent division reps over 1,000 creators. CollabDRM is a rights management provider, while Collab Clips comprises a library of 200,000 licensed viral videos.

Collab is also an official TikTok marketing partner with API access – meaning it has access to first-party data about audience demographics, and can offer real-time campaign reporting.

“With this acquisition, our brand clients can make better informed decisions about how to best spend their marketing budgets, grow their reach, and activate creators that align with their brand to deliver highly engaging content,” founder and co-CEO Tyler McFadden said in a statement.
