YouTube Shorts sensations Hungry Fam and Lively Lewis Show have signed with pocket.watch

When pocket.watch partnered with magician Dan Rhodes earlier this month, it made its first deal with a short-form creator. It hasn’t taken long for the kid-friendly network to add more TikTok and YouTube Shorts stars to its roster. It has signed eight new channels, including short-form standouts Hungry Fam and Lively Lewis Show.

The new pocket.watch signees will push the studio past several significant milestones. It now has more than 70,000 videos and over 25,000 hours of content in its library. Pocket.watch has amassed those stats over a five-year period. The company, led by former Maker Studios and Nickelodeon execs, raised a pivotal Series A round in 2017.

The new signee that most significantly impacts pocket.watch’s viewership numbers is Hungry Fam. The vertical video hub, which chronicles the adventures of an Asian-American family, has delivered incredible traffic on YouTube Shorts. At the start of the year, Hungry Fam reached 47th place in our U.S. Top 50 after getting 97.7 million views in a single week. As of this post, five of the channel’s short-form videos have earned at least 100 million YouTube views.

Hungry Fam isn’t the only new signee that will add diversity to the pocket.watch lineup. The studio has also inked a deal with African-American brother/sister duo Kamdenboy & Kyraboo, as well as all-ages channel Yogapalooza, which introduces young viewers to the magic of mindfulness.

“At pocket.watch we want kids around the world to see themselves in our content and are focused on partnering with creators who add exciting, diverse perspectives to our portfolio,” said pocket.watch SVP of Creator Management Chase Landau in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome this new group of dynamic creators to the pocket.watch family and look forward to building on their phenomenal success.”

Though pocket.watch typically works with long-form creators like Ryan Kaji, its latest crop of signings shows its willingless to branch out to emerging formats and platforms. With that said, many of the studio’s new partners deliver more traditional YouTube fare. Aside from the previously-mentioned channels, pocket.watch has also pacted with JunyTony, Crafty Hacks, Woohoo Storytime, and My PB and J.
