Talent Firm Rare Global Forms Incubator Division For ‘Mid-Tier’ Influencers Like Genelle Seldon, Brittany Sky

Rare Global, a boutique digital talent management outfit that reps starry lifestyle creators like Jenn Im, Jackie Aina, and Wengie, has launched a new incubator division that will seek to bolster the careers of ‘mid-tier’ influencers.

The so-called Rare Incubator division will provide these clients with strategy, mentorship, resources, and connections — given that the company believes mid-tier influencers bring in solid conversions, high engagement, and positive ROI. The company tells Tubefilter it defines mid-tier as YouTubers with between 200,000 and 800,000 followers, “great views” in proportion to subscribers, and high engagement.

The first two clients signed to the sector are beauty vloggers Genelle Seldon (pictured above) and Brittany Sky. Seldon counts 271,000 YouTube subscribers and 418,000 Instagram followers, while Sky — who is also renowned for her DJing and who starred in Kendrick Lamar‘s music video for “Poetic Justice” — counts 32,000 YouTube subscribers and 230,000 Instagram followers.

“We saw a gap in representation for mid-tier influencers, and the rationale is to treat them like small business partners,” Rare Global CEO Ashley Villa said in a statement. “This group has graduated from cultivating small niche audiences to a larger and more diverse following. They have a track record of moving the needle for brands, and now have the authority to command larger brand partnerships. This is a great opportunity for Rare Global to bring value to a new category of young, entrepreneurial clients.”

In addition to the aforementioned creators, Rare also reps Amber Scholl, Cydnee Black, Jessica Vu, and Alyssa Forever.
