YouTube Entrepreneur Zoe Sugg Renews Contract With Talent Firm Gleam Futures

Gleam Futures, the U.K. digital talent management company that has lost a number of high-profile clients in recent years, will forge onward with one of its hallmark stars: the lifestyle vlogger Zoe Sugg, who counts 42 million followers across all of her social media channels and is also the proprietor of a successful beauty and lifestyle brand called Zoella.

Sugg has re-signed with Gleam after six years with the company — though the company declined to disclose the length of her latest contract. During her time with the company, Sugg has also released several successful books, including a how-to guide titled Cordially Invited and a teen-fiction series dubbed Girl Online, which was subsequently translated into 40 languages.

Sugg’s re-up with Gleam arrives after prominent YouTubers including Alfie Deyes (Sugg’s boyfriend), Caspar Lee, and Joe Sugg (her younger brother) departed the management firm in late 2017 to launch their own talent management companies. Advertising giant Dentsu Aegis Network acquired a majority stake in Gleam in June 2017.

At the same time that Gleam has re-signed with Sugg — who counts roughly 17 million subscribers across two YouTube channels — it has also added two more creators to its roster: Sophie ‘Mrs. Hinch’ Hinchcliffe, whose cleaning tips and singular sense of humor have garnered 2.3 million Instagram followers, and Lydia Rose, whose fashion videos under the FashionInflux moniker have nabbed 2.8 million followers.

“We are thrilled to have re-signed Zoe to the Gleam Futures roster — she is the original social media sensation-turned-entrepreneur,” Gleam CEO Dom Smales said in a statement. “Over the last few years, we have inspired a new genre of high-quality talent and pioneered in a new industry, which is now more exciting than it has ever been. Zoe’s career is about to reach new heights and we’re so excited for what’s around the corner.”
