Liza Koshy Will Return To Her YouTube Channel Tomorrow After Yearlong Absence

It’s been over a year (since Feb. 21, to be exact) that YouTube megastar Liza Koshy has shared a self-made video on her flagship channel — if you don’t count her scripted YouTube Premium series Liza On Demand, which rolled out in June.

But that’s about to change. The 22-year-old vlogger-turned-actress and host released teasers on social media yesterday hinting that she would return to her channel (which counts 16.7 million subscribers) tomorrow — a fitting comeback being that Wednesdays are Koshy’s traditional upload day. In a slickly-produced teaser video, which Koshy shared on Instagram (below) with the caption ‘03.27.19’, she’s seen walking at night and stumbling upon a dollar bill on the street. Koshy’s YouTube channel banners have also been changed to reflect the date of her return.

The dollar bill likely signifies that a comeback will mark the next installment in Koshy’s wildly popular anthology of clips involving The Dollar Store — such as Trying To Get Kicked Out Of Store (32 million views), Wearing Dollar Store Outfits (7.5 million), Get Money (38.8 million), Doing This Again (54.5 million), and I Graduated For Free (19.7 million). In the videos, Koshy films herself shopping at various Dollar Stores, providing absurdist commentary with her signature brand of humor and quippy editing.

Koshy has discussed her hiatus at length on her second channel, Liza Koshy Too, which counts 7.9 million subscribers and which has been somewhat more active over the last year. In a clip titled Why I Took A Break, for instance, Koshy shared her experiences with creative burnout and mental health issues — familiar struggles faced by countless YouTubers.
