Big Frame’s Viewfinder Platform Turns Social Sharing Into A Game

Big Frame‘s newest tool will allow its partners to build a more tightly knit community. The multi-channel YouTube network has launched Viewfinder, a platform through which creators can gain rewards for sharing their peers’ videos.

Viewfinder, currently in beta and only available to Big Frame creators, is entirely focused on sharing. Creators earn points whenever they share the work of fellow Viewfinder users, and they can later redeem these points for paid advertising campaigns, free promotional assistance, and cold, hard cash. Big Frame believes its popular creators will use this system to ‘bump‘ their lesser-known peers, but so long as all of Viewfinder’s users share the love, they will increase the size of each other’s fan bases and build up a personal wealth of rewards.

Viewfinder builds off of Big Frame’s pre-existing sub-networks, the most prominent of which is its community for young women, Wonderly

. Wonderly’s growth has encouraged a strong kinship among its creators, and Viewfinder incentivizes that kinship. Big Frame doesn’t have the same volume as other major MCNs, but it has always prided itself on making its creators feel welcomed and included. Viewfinder doubles down on that pledge in a way that is both constructive and fun.

Right now, creators can sign up for Viewfinder only by joining the Big Frame network or one of its branch communities (In addition to Wonderly, the other sub-networks are Polished, Forefront, and Outlandish.) The platform’s release is well timed; as other MCNs launch their own platforms, players, and analytics suites, Big Frame’s newest toy is both useful and aligned with the network’s personality.
