The first of every month is payout day for content creators on Patreon, a subscription site where patrons can fund creators and receive tiered rewards in return. But a significant number of Patreon creators logged on this month to drastically lower payout amounts due to patrons’ payments being flagged as fraud, The Verge reported. Not all creators have been affected by the issue, and it’s not clear why such a large amount of payments are being declined, though some Twitter users are speculating it may caused by Patreon switching from U.S. banking servers to UK banking servers.
