Early digital studio Portal A, which has made a name for itself in both branded and original content, has upped four longtime female employees to partner status, and will bestow them with equity stakes in the company.
Emma White (pictured above, left), Elyse Preiss (right), Brittani Kagan (second from right), and Robyn Buensuceso (second from left) have received the promotion to associate partner, which demonstrates Portal A’s desire to reward key team members, the company said. In addition to equity stakes, each of the executives will receive a prominent leadership role in guiding Portal A’s overall strategic direction and staff management.
White has been named VP and associate partner, and will be tasked with leading company operations and client management, while Preiss — who led production of the YouTube documentary State Of Pride — has been named head of production and associate partner. Kagan has been named head of talent and associate partner, and Buensuceso will serve as head of business operations and associate partner, having helped forge a 2019 investment from and partnership with Jimmy Kimmel‘s Wheelhouse Entertainment, and strengthened other financial and operational procedures.
“These four exceptional leaders have shaped this company’s identity and we wouldn’t be where we are without them,” Portal A co-founder Zach Blume said in a statement. “It’s a special moment for us to be able to recognize each one of them as a partner so they can guide our work into the next decade and participate in our growth.”
Portal A was founded by Blume, Nate Houghteling, and Kai Hasson in 2008, and was most recently tapped by the Joe Biden campaign for an influencer campaign on Twitter and Instagram ahead of the 2020 election.
