Slow Mo Guys Learn How To Perform Hollywood Stunts In First Episode Of Their ‘Super Slow Show’

The Slow Mo Guys have launched their most significant project to date.

Gavin Free and Daniel Gruchy, whose experiments with high-speed cameras have netted them more than 10 million subscribers and close to 1.3 billion views on the channel they co-host, have launched The Super Slow Show, a YouTube-funded series that ups the slow-motion ante through over-the-top stunts and appearances from celebrity guests.

In a typical Slow Mo Guys video, Free and Gruchy take a fast process — such as the explosion of a giant water balloon — and depict it in slow motion. Their new program will continue to apply that same formula in order to create eye-popping visuals. “The duo explores everything from the tiniest phenomenons to the greatest spectacles in a visual fantasia, with one-of-a-kind glimpses into what the world looks like in slow motion,” reads a press release.

In the first episode of The Super Slow Show, Free and Gruchy learn how to perform Hollywood stunts, with some help from stunt choreographer Kyle Weishaar and actor Dylan Sprouse. In the second part of the episode, the two co-hosts put their learnings to use in order to navigate an obstacle course. Their trip through the gauntlet is recorded at multiple speeds from several angles, giving viewers plenty of chances to glimpse Free and Gruchy’s amusing facial expressions.

YouTube funded The Super Slow Show as part of its investment in ad-supported original content, a move it announced last year. The video site previously supported its top slow-motion cinematographers by working with them to create an ad campaign.

The Super Slow Show will run for 12 weeks on the Slow Mo Guys YouTube channel. Future guests will include Mayim Bialik and Kevin Durant.
