Roman Atwood To Attempt Awe-Inspiring Stunts In New YouTube Red Series

YouTube is adding to its portfolio of family-friendly Red originals alongside the prank maestro-turned-daily vlogger Roman Atwood, who has amassed more than 23 million subscribers across his two channels to date. While Atwood’s content has ignited controversy in the past — including several prank videos in which he has pretended to murder his children — the 34-year-old father of three has now abandoned his prank channel (10 million subscribers) and settled on family vlogs

(13 million subscribers).

Roman Atwood’s Day Dreams will see Atwood, his family, and a team of volunteers staging extreme projects to make people’s wildest dreams come true, according to a release — including creating a monster truck playground in his backyard and attempting a tricycle backflip at Nitro Circus. It sounds vaguely similar to Furze World Wonders, another family-friend YouTube Red series from backyard inventor Colin Furze, in which he puts his invention skills to good use to help other people.

Roman Atwood’s Day Dreams will premiere on Nov. 22 and is being produced by Studio71. The show’s executive producers include Atwood, John Fitzpatrick (who also produced the Roman vs. Fousey tour documentary), and Studio71’s Dan Weinstein and Rabih Gholam.

“This was an opportunity for me to do something different in partnership with YouTube Red and to focus on doing great things for some amazing people,” Atwood said in a statement. “I’m excited for the world to see the life-changing results.” In addition to Day Dreams, Atwood’s other recent ventures include a mobile game called Smile More and a 2016 feature film called Natural Born Pranksters.

Adds Nadine Zylstra, head of family entertainment and learning at YouTube Originals: “Roman Atwood has always created the kind of content that appeals to people of all ages. We are sure that his current fans will be eager to check out his new series, and new viewers will be thrilled to discover him.”
