For New York Fashion Week, Elle Promotes Inclusivity Alongside YouTube Stars

The beauty stars of the online video world have increasingly become a part of New York Fashion Week, and the 2017 edition of the event is giving more creators the opportunity to tell the world about themselves. The fashion magazine Elle has teamed up with YouTube to launch a series called Fashion For All, which will promote inclusivity in the world of fashion.

Episodes of Fashion For All will be filmed at YouTube Space NY and will feature stars like Keke Palmer, Cassandra Bankson, Nikita Dragun, Ari Fitz, Loey Lane, and Iskra Lawrence. Each highlighted creator will have an opportunity to share her story and will offer a few thoughts on the topic of inclusivity. Elle will also take time to profile people who are changing the face of the fashion industry; among them is Precious Lee, a plus-size black model.

Adjacent to the launch of the series, Palmer and Lee will also serve as two members

of a panel that hopes to open a conversation about representation in fashion. “I love YouTube because it allows me to communicate in so many ways with my fans,” said Palmer in a press release. “From personal messages to skits or just ideas that I’m thinking of turning into long form. It’s a way that they know my work isn’t just pulled out from thin air, but that it’s coming from a conversation that we are continuously having.”

This is not the first time YouTube has opened up its New York space for a Fashion Week initiative. Two years ago, model Karlie Kloss and Vogue teamed up for a takeover of the facility, producing several videos along the way.

Episodes of Fashion For All will arrive on Elle’s YouTube channel, which has more than 122,000 subscribers.
