YouTube Star Alexis G. Zall, Viner Jay Walker To Headline Netflix Feature ‘Coin Heist’

Fresh off its announcement that a second season of the Miranda Sings sitcom Haters Back Off is coming in 2017, Netflix is poised to expand its slate of projects involving digital creators like Colleen Ballinger and Cameron Dallas.

On Jan. 6, Netflix will exclusively premiere Coin Heist, an original feature film about four teens from a Philadelphia prep school who hatch a plan to rob the U.S. Mint of $10 million during a class field trip. Though it’s not necessarily an influencer-driven projects, two digital creators occupy starring rolls: YouTube creator Alexis G. Zall and Viner Jay Walker. Coin Heist, adapted from a young adult novel and produced by Adaptive Studios

, was directed by Emily Hagins and also stars Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars) and Alex Saxon (The Fosters).

In addition to a YouTube channel with roughly 1.1 million subscribers, Zall hosts a chat show on Fullscreen called Zall Good, and also recently appeared in the YouTube Red holidays series 12 Deadly Days. Walker, for his part, counts over 430,000 followers on Vine.
