Chas Stahl joins Get Engaged’s GEM Studios to lead development of creator brands and IPs

Jellysmack and StyleHaul alum Chas Stahl has joined GEM Studios, the digital content production wing of influencer-focused marketing agency Get Engaged.

Stahl got his start working in TV for Walt Disney and went on to work at Yahoo before becoming a talent manager at both STX Entertainment and StyleHaul, and a director of digital business development at Right Angle Entertainment. He served as Jellysmack’s senior manager of corporate development, and then, in 2021, he founded CS Digital Projects, a management consulting company for content creators and brands.

At Get Engaged, he’ll lead GEM Studios, which works with content creators, stand-up comedians, musicians, and celebrities to produce digital content across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Snap, and Spotify. GEM Studios is newly established, but Get Engaged has been around since 2016 and has done marketing (much of it involving content creators) for 40+ major brands, 100+ celebrity clients, and more than 50 record labels.

Get Engaged says immediate plans for GEM Studios include scaling its production services and growing existing clients’ “social footprints and ad monetization on our current platforms via syndication and licensing.” It also wants to work with content creators and celebrities to create more original brands and IPs

.

Stahl will spearhead these initiatives.

“The content landscape is evolving tremendously between trends, algorithms, formats, and platforms’ feature sets and priorities,” Stahl tells Tubefilter. “There are more opportunities across social now than ever before but bandwidth and best practices are often limiting factors. GEM Studios is positioned with the resources and expertise to support our O&Os and creators’ ambitions to monetize and grow effectively.”

Jason Zerden, Get Engaged’s chief strategy officer, adds, “We’re so excited to have Chas at the helm of GEM Studios, and know he will be able to continue to scale the growing side of our content business. We are lucky to have him, and excited to see where he takes it.”

Stahl will work out of Get Engaged’s offices in New York City.
