YouTube To Serve As VidCon Australia’s Title Sponsor, Tickets Available Now

YouTube has served as the title sponsor of VidCon U.S. seven times and counting — and now, the world’s largest video platform has been named title sponsor for the first-ever VidCon Australia, slated for next Sept. 9-10 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets for the event are available here.

VidCon Australia is poised to welcome 7,500 fans, according to the company — roughly a quarter of the amount of attendees that it is expecting to welcome to VidCon U.S., which will be held this summer in Anaheim, Calif. As the title sponsor, YouTube will create activities for fans, creators, and industry attendees alike — though a full schedule of events and a list of attending creators for VidCon Australia will be announced at a later date.

“We look forward to working with the team at VidCon to gather fans, creators, brands, and industry colleagues to celebrate the ever-expanding online video ecosystem in Australia,” Chris Dodson

, head of YouTube marketing at Google Australia, said in a statement. “When investigating new markets for VidCon, we were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our partners at YouTube, [government organization] Creative Victoria, the Melbourne Convention Bureau, and more, to bring VidCon to Australia,” added VidCon COO Michael Gardner and EVP Colin Hickey.

Similar to its American iteration, VidCon Australia will feature a slew of endemic and non-endemic sponsors and exhibitors, according to a release.

Earlier this month, VidCon announced several of the creators slated to attend VidCon Europe in Amsterdam next April, including Hannah Hart, Joey Graceffa, and Swoozie. Tickets are also on sale now for the company’s flagship event, VidCon U.S.
