“The Fat Jewish” Rules Instagram, Hangs With Katie Couric

If you’re not plugged into the Instagram scene, let me be the first person to tell you to go check out “The Fat Jewish.” The account run by hirsute New Yorker Josh Ostrovsky applies fitting captions to funny pictures, and it has become a huge success, with more than 3.3 million followers. A New York Post profile from last year lists Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry as Fat Jewish fans, and now, Ostrovsky has another famous admirer: Katie Couric, who sat down with him for a ridiculous interview.

Couric conducted the interview at a nail salon, where both she and Ostrovsky received pedicures. While they got their nails did, Couric asked the 30-year-old about his creative process, which involves a gigantic bowl of chili, a team of interns who work out of a separate

nail salon, and a lot of other absurd elements:

Couric has made video a big part of her presence since she joined Yahoo at the beginning of 2014. On the site’s news vertical, she’s profiled politicians and entrepreneurs, but this is clearly her fattest, most Jewish interview yet.
