Fullscreen Builds Out New York Sales Team, Hires Vets Kevin McGurn, Maureen Polo

Fullscreen has new sales leaders to help boost revenue for the YouTube multi-channel network and its initiatives (like its recently-announced foray into feature-length films). Kevin McGurn will serve as Fullscreen’s Head of Sales and Maureen Polo will undertake the position of General Manager.

McGurn comes to Fullscreen with 17 years of advertising and revenue experience from companies such as Shazam Entertainment and Hulu. In his role as the MCN’s sales lead, McGurn will be responsible for sales not only for Fullscreen and its properties, but also for Fullscreen’s parent company Otter Media and its accompanying brands, like anime-centric video site Crunchyroll and online craft destination Creativebug.

McGurn will report to Fullscreen’s Chief Revenue Officer Michael Wann as well as Otter Media’s Tom Pickett (who left YouTube as its head of content in late 2014 to run Otter’s upcoming-but-yet-unnamed video-on-demand service).

“I couldn’t be happier about returning to the world of video content creation, syndication and monetization,” McGurn stated in the release. “Building businesses that benefit creators, distributors and brands is my passion, and Fullscreen and Otter Media are aggregating

the best opportunity to make the biggest impact on the future of the media business. Marrying brands with relevant audiences across platforms at massive scale is the most exciting part of today’s landscape.”

Fullscreen also brought on board Maureen Polo, formerly director of business development at Hearst Integrated Media, to serve as General Manager of Sales. Polo will be in charge of developing and leading Fullscreen’s national marketing initiatives. Both she and McGurn will work out of the company’s New York City office, which is now the MCN’s official sales headquarters.

“Fullscreen launched four years ago in LA with a mission to empower this new generation of creators,” said Fullscreen founder and CEO George Strompolos. “We’ve seen great success in connecting these highly influential creators with Madison Avenue, and as a leader in integrated marketing, we recognized the clear opportunity to scale our New York presence. We’re proud to have Kevin and Maureen at the helm to give clients greater access to this powerful base of emerging creative talent.”

Fullscreen currently claims 60,000 creative partners, 500 million subscribers, and more than 5 billion monthly video views across its entire network.
