YouTube Teases Future Developments In A Video For Creators

YouTube has developed a bad habit of suddenly dropping major changes on its creative community with little to no warning. The site has often changed its layout, comments system, and algorithms, leaving creators scrambling to adapt to the new YouTube order.

Judging from one of its latest videos, YouTube is trying to kick that habit. The site’s YouTube Creators channel is home to a new entry that updates creators about the site’s upcoming plans.

During the three-and-a-half minute video, YouTube employees take turns explaining the projects they are working on. These include a new app that will allow creators to manage their channels from mobile devices, a platform that will allow creators to run crowdfunding campaigns directly on YouTube, and a service that will allow users to contribute their own video captions.

Existing services have also received upgrades. YouTube has given creators more options when managing their comments, has provided cover artists with more monetization options, and has added new tracks to its Audio Library. The Audio Library will receive a further update through a collection of sound effects.

Some of these changes will excite creators, but it’s most exciting to see YouTube making a real effort to keep its creative community in the loop. Let’s hope videos like this one are to become regular features on the site.
