Vice Will Be Featured In YouTube’s Next Television Ad Campaign

Digital news company Vice revealed a number of upcoming projects at its Digital Content Newfronts presentation. Perhaps the most interesting item is the news that Vice’s YouTube channel will be featured in an upcoming ad campaign from YouTube that will be similar to the ones the site launched for three of its creators in April.

The campaign will be part of YouTube’s second round of creator-focused advertisements and will particularly focus on the Vice News channel. The ads will run on TV, online, in print, and across billboards.

Beyond the ad campaign, Vice also discussed a number of upcoming ventures. Most significantly, the channel is taking aim at the world of sports with a new channel called Vice Sports. The channel’s flagship program will be called Vice World Of Sports

, and it will feature stories of sports culture around the globe. As one might expect, the show will feature the same edgy tone that has come to define most Vice content.

Vice Sports is the latest category-specific channel from Vice. In the past few months alone, it has launched food hub Munchies as well as a distinct home for all of its Vice News coverage. The next year, those channels will get new programs, and old favorites like Eddie Huang’s Fresh Off The Boat will return.

The network’s growth has founder Shane Smith excited. “Mobile, online, TV, film,” he stated. “We’re coming.”
