Get Ready To Watch Vine Videos In Movie Theaters

Vine videos will soon spice up your pre-movie entertainment. National CineMedia (NCM), which provides pre-show entertainment to several of the top movie theater chains in the US, has struck a deal with Twitter through which it will create a minute-long pre-movie series based around movie-related Tweets and Vines.

It is still unclear how the show will select the specific Tweets and Vines to feature on the show, though Variety reports that the theme will be “trending movie and entertainment content.” Viewers will be encouraged to submit their own social media updates, and, according to a NCM representative, “anything that has happened in the twittersphere since the last show is fair game.”

NCM’s list of distribution partners includes AMC, Cinemark, and Regal. It’s best-known program is FirstLook, which provides viewers with early access to upcoming TV shows and films. As anyone who has seen FirstLook knows, NCM’s new social media show will capture the in-theater audience’s attention if it is at least a little interesting.
