YouTube’s creative community came out in full force for Valentine’s Day, and the site itself added to the holiday cheer with a few V-Day goodies. A post on the YouTube Trends blog celebrates popular love songs and shares some stats about the volume of romantic music uploaded to the site.
The post notes that there are five million music videos on YouTube the word ‘love’ in the title; those videos have collectively been viewed more than 50 billion times. The post includes the ten ‘love’ songs with the most YouTube views, a list topped by Eminem and Rihanna’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’.
YouTube’s Valentine’s Day presence also extends to a number of playlists available on the YouTube Spotlight channel. In addition to highlighting awkward love songs, “love around the world“, and offbeat marriage proposals, YouTube also brought in DJ Flula for an odd series of videos where he reveals his various “YouTube crushes.”
You’ll dig the rest of the #YouTubeCrush playlist if, like me and Beth Hoyt, you want Flula to be your Valentine.
