ZEFR To Present ‘SNL’ To The World As 39th Season Set To Debut

Saturday Night Live returns for its 39th season on September 28th, and while Yahoo recently secured a deal distribute short-form clips online in the United States, ZEFR is now in charge of presenting it to the rest of the world. The “leading decision-making platform for brand and content management on YouTube” will run the official Saturday Night Live YouTube channel, which is only available to viewers outside of the US.

As with Yahoo, ZEFR now has access to an absolute treasure trove of comedy, spanning 39 seasons and 745 episodes. Non-Americans can introduce themselves to one of our longest-running TV programs through an arsenal of weekend updates, deep thoughts, and digital shorts, and ten clips will be added to the channel after each episode airs.

ZEFR will work with Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video (which itself runs Above Average) to manage the SNL channel. “ZEFR is thrilled to partner with Broadway Video and Saturday Night Live,” said Rich Raddon

, co-founder of ZEFR. “We look forward to using our expertise on YouTube to manage the international SNL Channel, and helping to drive global traffic to the brand.”

Americans can rely on Yahoo for all their cowbell needs (or head over to Hulu to see full episodes), and the top platform has proven happy to serve its sketch-hungry users. Its SNL archive remains wide open, and it constantly adds new clips, including the promo for this Saturday’s episode, which will be hosted by Tina Fey.

A Yahoo release also noted that search volume for terms like “Cecily Strong” (who will join Seth Meyers on Weekend Update) and new cast member “Mike O’Brien” are off the charts. It’s going to be a new era of SNL, and yes, we so excited.
