YouTube’s Monthly Labs Bringing Together Like-Minded Creators

Michelle Phan’s Generation Beauty isn’t the only event catering to YouTube’s fashion crown. YouTube recently held a Beauty Lab at its LA creator space, where it invited the biggest names in online video style to participate in panels, networking events, and runway videos.

The Beauty Lab began when YouTube invited 12 creators to come share the LA space: Evelinicutza, GlamLifeGuru, WendyTeresita, dazzlemehay, ANNEORSHINE, GlassSlipperbeauty, thatssociciyo, Lagunabeachlove10, DaniAustin2, ArikaSato, beautybitten, and fashionnewslive. While there, the featured fashionistas worked together on videos, some of which made use of a runway constructed for the event. To top things offer, YouTube hosted a Night of Fashion in partnership with Michelle Phan’s Ipsy. The Night of Fashion was organized by Bethann Stenseth, a YouTube employee and a fashion blogger in her own right. “As part of Beauty Lab in June at the YouTube Space, LA, we held a YouTube Night of Fashion to

offer an opportunity to bring the YouTube fashion community together,” she said. “It’s a great way to connect brands with creators and for each to talk about possible collabs or just to understand each others’ worlds better.”

The Beauty Lab is not an isolated event. Instead, YouTube will continue to host genre-focused get-togethers at the LA space, giving like-minded creators a chance to meet up and work together. July’s event will be a YouTube Geek Lab, and its organizers are now accepting applications. Putting a bunch of nerds is a room together is pretty cool, but you know what’s cooler? Putting the nerds and the fashionistas in the same event. Now that would be an experiment worthy of the ‘Lab’ moniker.
