Dr Pepper Spices Up Talent Search With Help From Michael Buckley

Today I learned that Michael Buckley, noted vlogger and host of What the Buck, is a huge Diet Dr Pepper fan. So big is his love for the soda that he used to get emails from his boss complaining about how many cans he was taking from the fridge. Therefore, Buckley must be elated at his role in Dr Pepper‘s /1 campaign, where he tells his life story and encourages fans to do the same.

Buckley is the only YouTuber to work with the /1 campaign, which also features several offerings similar to the one he presents. In the branded video, he discusses his profession, his rise to prominence, and his genuine love of Dr Pepper.

The /1 digital campaign created by creative shop Code and Theory  is dedicated to seeking out individuals who, like Buckley, have an interesting and unique story to tell

. In addition to showcasing videos from featured talent, it also calls for user submissions, which will be accepted until June 19. By July 10th, the finalists will be selected, with viewers voting on which ones are most “one-of-a-kind”. Five finalists will be chosen by July 25th, and the winner will be crowned on August 5th, taking home the grand prize of a starring role in a Dr Pepper ad.

To enter the Buckley-specific contest, you just need to post what Dr Pepper calls a “one-liner” on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. You could win a starring role on an upcoming episode What the Buck and a variety of audio/visual equipment.

Clearly, you’re one line away from becoming a YouTuber with at least one very popular fan. You’re welcome to use Buckley’s story as inspiration, but you’ll have to think up your own catchphrase.
