Want To Be A YouTube Star? YOMYOMF Has You Covered

Earlier this year, the then-young YOMYOMF channel launched Internet Icon, a talent search aimed at discovering the next great YouTube star. The ten episode series was a huge success, garnering several million views; to date, it is still YOMYOMF’s most popular web series. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the show is returning, and aspiring creators have a chance to be part of the fun.

Internet Icon‘s second season will begin in early 2013, and there will be plenty of time to submit if you wish to try your hand at one of the Internet’s most popular reality competition shows. Submissions open in January, so keep an eye on Internet Icon‘s Facebook page for the details.

Previous contestants saw a huge subscriber boost, and the trailer seems to be aimed at creators, informing them how much of a lift they could see if they participate in the competition. Last season’s winners, The Brothers Riedell, now boast over 97 thousand subscribers and more than 3.6 million views. Their traffic compares decently to some other notable YouTube names

, so the ‘Internet Icon’ title is no joke. All things considered, the top 10 featured contestants saw an average subscriber jump of 522%.

Of course, the show has appeal for viewers as well. It doesn’t take a budding creator to appreciate Internet Icon‘s collection of notable judges. Ryan Higa serves as the show’s host, and he’s invited all of his YouTube friends over for the party, including Felicia Day, KevJumba, KassemG, Smosh, The Fine Brothers, Jenna Marbles and Shane Dawson. We haven’t seen that many stars all in one place since, well, earlier this week. But that doesn’t make it any less cool.

YOMYOMF has come a long way since the first season of Internet Icon, and the new batch of episodes should go even further towards increasing its reach. If you’re a fan, get excited; if you’re a creator, submit, submit, submit! Tell ’em Tubefilter sent you.
