Fashion Is Today’s Social Media Week Los Angeles Buzzword

Only four days to go until Social Media Week Los Angeles kicks off on Monday. We’ve told you about a host of great events related to video and celebrities, but today our focal point is on the fashion industry, which will be well represented at SMWLA, with one event on the opening day and three more on Wednesday. If you’re interested in hearing some big names in style reveal how social marketing tools are impacting their business, go ahead and check these out. The four events will be:

The first fashion event of the week will deal with luxury brands, and the ways in which they are slowly but surely adapting to social media trends. Executives representing the high-end Lucky Jeans brand and the posh Phyllis Morris interior design line will talk about the ways in which their classy companies are finally marketing through the common man or woman.

Wednesday’s packed day of fashion will a keynote from Ryan Holiday of American Apparel. We’ve discussed Holiday’s personal exploits several times in this space, but his company’s racy ad campaigns deserve as much attention as Holiday himself. If you’ve shopped at American Apparel, it might be neat to learn about the various ways they are trying to manipulate you.

After that talk wraps up at The Egyptian Theater, a second group of fashionable faces will move into the space to talk about content creators in the online fashion industry. Obviously, this one is right up our alley, and sure enough, the panel will feature several names we’ve covered on here, like Nikki Philippi and Leah Ashley of ‘u look haute’ fame. If you like our site (I know I do!) then this would be the perfect fashion event to check out at SMWLA.

Finally, the day of lookin’ fab will wrap up with Allison Beal of StyleSaint discussing the way she used social media to build her brand from the ground up. This will be a nice contrast to the earlier focus on larger brands and should appeal to the young, budding fashionista in you.

All in all, it’s an exciting docket of lifestyle talks at SMWLA. As always, I’d like to remind you to keep checking the schedule to find the perfect events for you. Remember, RSVPing is as easy as clicking ‘Attend’, so sign up, show up, and make sure you’re dressed in your best outfit when you get there.
