Morgan Spurlock‘s feature Mansome, a documentary that takes a comedic look at male grooming habits, is heading to Yahoo as a new short-form web series.
The new series, executive produced by Spurlock through Warrior Poets, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett through DumbDumb and Ben Silverman through Electus, will expand its scope to include other male-focused subjects such as sports and gadgets.
The project, set to debut in July, was previously referred to as The MANual at the Yahoo didigital upfront during the Digital Content NewFronts in New York earlier this month.
Mansome is part of Yahoo’s expanding slate of programming focused on a young male audience, which includes Electric City from Tom Hanks, Cybergeddon from CSI creator Anthony E. Zuiker, Stunt Nation from Vin Di Bona‘s Fishbowl Worldwide Media, and a talk show with Jeff Goldblum.
“Mansome will still have that smart, subversive comedic tone that Morgan Spurlock does so well,” Erin McPherson, Head of Video and Original Programming at Yahoo, told Variety.
Mansome premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this past April, and featured candid interviews from web-friendly stars Arnett, Bateman, Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis, Adam Carolla, and Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice Man)—perhaps we’ll see some familiar faces in the series.
