The podcast company formerly known as The Roost is now Podium

Nearly a decade after its initial launch, the podcast company formerly known as The Roost is getting a rebrand. Under the name Podium, the expanded network will pursue a multimedia strategy while continuing to work with top creators across YouTube, Spotify, and other audio platforms.

Under its original name, The Roost was part of Rooster Teeth, the gaming and entertainment company behind shows like Red Vs. Blue. Amid a period of decline at Rooster Teeth, The Roost was a bright spot, landing high-profile partnerships and delivering strong listener numbers.

Shortly after Rooster Teeth went belly up in 2024, talent management company Night picked up The Roost. The network’s roster includes shows from creators like Sam & Colby and Ludwig, but the best-known podcast under the Podium umbrella is hosted by a stand-up comic and former reality star with a penchant for booking big-name guests. Theo Von‘s This Past Weekend consistently ranks near the top of the Spotify charts, and Von’s conversations with figures like Donald Trump played a pivotal role during the 2024 “influencer election.”

Taken together, Podium’s shows generate 50 million video and audio impressions per month while reaching 66 million followers across social media. Those numbers are about to rise even higher, because Trisha Paytas is now part of Podium. Paytas, a veteran vlogger and musical theatre aficionado, has received more than 180 million YouTube views on her podcast Just Trish.

“When Night acquired The Roost in 2024, we saw a company that understood something the rest of the industry was just waking up to: that podcasting is video-first, personality-driven, and powered by fandom,” said Night Founder and CEO Reed Duchscher in a statement. “Two years later, this company has evolved from its origins. Podium is who this team and these creators are today, and there’s no better way to open this chapter than welcoming Trisha, one of the most magnetic influencers on the internet.”

With a new name and new partners in tow, Podium plans to transcend the “podcast network” label. Through video infrastructure and live programming, Podium will show that podcasts are much bigger than the audio medium that once limited them. Now, podcasts are cross-platform franchises helmed by creators, and that space is Night’s bread and butter.
