The internet’s sports stars are teaming up at RDCWorld’s DreamCon

The luminaries of YouTube’s basketball scene are venturing to Austin for a little five-on-five. On July 26 and 27, the House of Highlights Creator League will return to RDCWorld‘s DreamCon gathering for a pair of athletic events: A dodgeball showdown and a creator-led basketball game.

The Creator League has become a breakout hit for Bleacher Report-affiliated House of Highlights (H0H), which has launched a dedicated channel for its creator sports competitions. DreamCon is a key venue for HoH; the brand tripled its branded content revenue by working directly with creators, including RDCWorld leading man Mark Phillips.

The 2024 edition of RDC’s Black nerd get-together will once again double as a Creator League arena. After hosting its first dodgeball event at DreamCon in 2022, HoH will put on another spectacle of dodging, ducking, dipping, diving, and dodging on July 26.

Then, on the 27th, the basketball will tip off. Last year, a team captained by Phillips defeated a team captained by streamer JiDion, thanks in large part to the efforts of Duke Dennis. Now, Dennis — a member of creator supergroup AMP — will draft his own team to compete against Phillips’ squad.

The result will be the next chapter in the sports rivalry between AMP and RDC, and Phillips had better watch out. If he doesn’t pick his team carefully, he could face longer odds than the non-American Olympic basketball teams he spoofed in a recent RDC video.

No matter the outcome, the DreamCon edition of the Creator League stands to benefit both its contestants and its organizers. HoH’s previous visits to the convention have resulted in millions of on-demand views, helping the brand expand to sports like football and tentpoles like the Final Four.

The players who will participate in the fun will get to be part of an apparatus that is bringing the influencer and basketball worlds closer together than ever before, opening up numerous opportunities for creators in the process. The DreamCon Creator League events may not fill up one of the world’s largest stadiums, but it will provide a sumptuous stage for a group of talented, hungry entertainers.

If you want to see how Real Dreamers Change the World this time, you can still grab a ticket for the upcoming DreamCon. If you’d prefer to watch at home, keep an eye on the Creator League socials, where the participants for the upcoming games will be revealed.
