The majority of the channels near the top of our Weekly Brand Report have blended educational content with learning-focused tie-ins. Some of these channels are making regular appearances among the most-watched sponsored videos on YouTube, but there is room for other categories as well. Here’s the secret to a successful sponsorship: If you can’t teach your viewers about a scientific or mathematical concept, you can always delve into a spooky true crime story from history. Or you can just be MrBeast, who seems to show up in this column every week.

#1 Something Strange Happens When You Follow Einstein’s Math

The most-watched sponsored YouTube video of the week didn’t come from MrBeast — instead, Derek Muller‘s Veritasium provided the goods. Both Veritasium and its latest sponsor, data security firm Incogni, have made several appearances in our Weekly Brand Report. Their collab takes on one of science’s trickiest concepts: Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity. Something that’s so great about Muller’s sponsored videos is that he reinvests in the content he creates. His 37-minute explanation of Einstein’s brain-breaking theories is support by 3D animations, detailed diagrams, and interviews with experts.

#2 We Schooled Hundreds of Teachers

Brand: Chegg

One week after placing at the top of the Weekly Brand Report, MrBeast delivered the second-most watched sponsored clip of the week. This time, he reached millions with a brand partnership on his Beast Philanthropy channel, through which he invests in a number of charitable causes. For a video that provides resources for teacher, the man born Jimmy Donaldson gave a shout out to the study aid Chegg. If he can’t get billionaires to work with his philanthrophic hub, Donaldson can always rely on his ol’ reliable sponsored content.

#3 Mom Had No Idea Her Son Is Actually The Killer
Channel: The Villains
Brand: June’s Journey

Both the creator and brand featured in this video are new names in our Weekly Brand Report. The “son” and “killer” mentioned in the title of this clip are related to the team behind the video; rather, he’s a subject of one of the channel’s true crime explorations. A grim, morbid video like this might not seem like the perfect way to promote a mobile game, but that didn’t stop June’s Journey from teaming up with the Villains crew. With the casual title, anyone can turn into a hotshot investigator.

#4 Precision guided launcher turns noobs into pros
Channel: Stuff Made Here
Brand: Brilliant

Do you want to learn how to use science to cheat at sports? Shane Wighton has you covered. The host of the Stuff Made Here channel used his STEM knowhow to develop a guided disc launcher that can hurl a frisbee at 100 miles-per-hour with perfect precision. If that sounds like a brilliant idea to you, you can head to, well, Brilliant, the video’s sponsor. There’s no way of knowing if the students who take Brilliant’s digital courses will be able to become ultimate gods themselves. They’ll just have to put their own hucking-machine skills to the test.

I’m sorry, Weekly Brand Report reader, but you’ve just been Rickrolled. One of the oldest memes in YouTube history got a thorough breakdown in a recent video published on the NationSquid channel. If this history lesson gets the internet’s most infamous earworm stuck in your head, you can always seek some peace and quiet with the hi-tech mask offered by sponsor Manta Sleep. I can’t imagine that Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” would ever help me fall asleep, but it definitely sounds like a good way to get up and at ’em in the morning.
