Vevo unveils “celebrations-themed channel,” data-driven ad placements at NewFronts

At the 2023 NewFronts, audiovisual platform Vevo unveiled new products and features that will help its partners reach music video viewers around the world. Among other initiatives, Vevo is debuting a “celebrations-themed channel” called Vevo Features and a data-driven ad toolkit called Vevo Intelligence.

Vevo will add Features to its collection of free, ad-supported television (FAST) channels. The new hub will be available through Samsung TV Plus, where it and three other new channels will join ten pre-existing Vevo destinations. Features will provide consumers with themed content during cultural months and holidays, including Black History Month, Women’s History Month, July 4th, and Halloween.

In total, Vevo’s FAST channels and apps span 35 connected TV platforms, including new partner Philo. Vevo Intelligence will give the company a new way to package its sprawling network for advertisers. Building off of its Moods tool, Vevo will match branded content with music videos based on factors like audio, lyrics, and visuals.

“Working directly with Vevo, media buyers can gain reach and intelligence into an unprecedented mix of diverse audiences,” said Vevo President of Sales and Distribution Kevin McGurn. “Due to Vevo‘s scale and ubiquitous presence in the streaming market, we can also offer buyers the flexibility and agility to quickly shift dollars fluidly across our global CTV footprint.”

Like many other Vevo events, its 2023 NewFronts pitch included a performance from a global pop star. Over the years, artists who have played at the platform’s annual presentation have included luminaries like John Legend and Billie Eilish. This year’s attendees were treated to the musical stylings of J Balvin (pictured above). The so-called “prince of reggaetón” concluded Vevo’s 2023 NewFronts shindig with a live show.
