Instagram’s First Creator Week To Feature JoJo Siwa, 50 Cent, Yung BBQ

Creator Week, Instagram’s first ever professional development program for creators, will feature guest speakers including JoJo Siwa, 50 Cent, Yung BBQ, Elsa Majimbo, and more.

Slated for June 8-10, the invite-only virtual event will bring around 5,000 U.S.-based makers together for three days of virtual sessions aimed at helping creators build their personal brands on Instagram and its parent platform, Facebook.

Instagram says attending creators can expect meetups, interactive workshops, DJs in residence, a drop-in studio where they can get custom illustrations for their accounts, a Shark Tank-esque competition called Fund My Merch Line, a separate but similar contest called Deal Us In where creators can pitch video series ideas for Instagram and Facebook, and “other surprises to help [them] build sustainable careers and businesses.”

Creator Week’s complete list of thus-far-revealed guests includes Siwa, 50 Cent, Majimbo, Yung BBQ, Benito Skinner, S!CK, Sinikiwe Dhliwayo, Jhánneu Roberts, Tommy Marcus, Coco and Breezy, Hailey Eylül Sani, Brendan Jordan, Leah Raquel, Victoria Lyn, Meeka, Kevin Ninh, DJ Dark Knight, Berna, Lonnie Marts IIV, Natalie Burdick, Vanessa Chen, Deja Foxx of GenZ Girl Gang, Adam Wescott of Creator+, Andrew Graham from CAA, Courtney Holt of Spotify, Gael & Thomas of Teenager Therapy Podcast, Simone Oliver from Refinery29, Laurise McMillian from Refinery29 Unbothered, and Chris Sawtelle from ICM Partners.

More featured guests will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Instagram (which head Adam Mosseri recently said is doubling down on offerings for creators) additionally revealed some of Creator Week’s specific programming. Siwa, for example, will lead a “featured opener” session on the event’s first day, while 50 Cent is running a June 9 session called Drop a Song, Get Discovered, where he and other music industry insiders will “lay down the new rules for how artists break.”

The

majority of Creator Week’s programming will be exclusive to attendees, but some of it will be available on Instagram’s creator hub, instagram.com/creators.
