On Oct. 23, nearly two dozen musicians from Foundry—YouTube‘s indie artist development program—will premiere new content on their channels as part of an all-day digital festival.
“YouTube created Foundry in 2015 to celebrate developing artists from around the world and help them build a global fanbase,” Naomi Zeichner, YouTube’s artist partnerships lead, said in a statement. “#FoundryFest is a testament to the resiliency of the artist community, and I’m excited for fans to explore what these artists are creating right now, and hear more about their experiences this year.”
Participating artists include Dua Lipa (15.7 million subscribers), Beabadoobee (392K), Omar Apollo (70.7K), Arlo Parks (20.4K), Joesef (3.24K), Rauw Alejandro (5.9 million), Gabriel Garzón-Montano (11.1K), Natanael Cano (3.57 million), Rina Sawayama (228K), Lost Stories (291K), Tessa Violet (1.8 million), Baby Rose (12.9K), Michael Brun (32.9K), Eladio Carrion (898K), Novelbright (256K), Lime Cordiale (32.6K), REI AMI (111K), Adam Melchor (13.3K), TESSÆ (42.9K), Guapdad 4000 (80.3K), and Isabella Lovestory (1.37K).
Each artist has selected content to premiere on the day of the festival; videos range from live performances to music videos to new song debuts to interviews.
Like YouTube’s #SOSFEST, which aired last week, #FoundryFest will collect money for the National Independent Venue Association, a coalition of more than 2,800 American music venues, promoters, and festivals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will also raise funds for the Equal Justice Initiative and other causes, YouTube said.
#FoundryFest content will begin dropping at 9 a.m. Eastern Oct. 23.
