Short-form video hub TikTok has enlisted a bevy of high-profile celebrity users to help raise money for charity this holiday season.
TikTok has pledged to donate $2 million to DoSomething.org, Best Friends Animal Society, and ocean conservation organization Oceana through an in-app initiative dubbed #CreateForACause. When users employ the app’s new 15 holiday-themed AR filters between Dec. 21 and Dec. 26 and use the aforementioned hashtag, TikTok says it will tender a donation — for a maximum of roughly $667,000 to each organization. The new filters include, for instance, an AR Santa who can pop out of a chimney, reindeer horns for dogs, snow globe effects, elf face filters, and more.
