Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t the only big-ticket sports star that Facebook Watch has in its sights.
The social network’s video hub premiered today a 16-episode docuseries starring football luminary Odell Beckham Jr., which is produced by LeBron James’ media company Uninterrupted. The series, titled I Am More: OBJ, will stream exclusively every Friday throughout football season on a dedicated Facebook page, Variety reports.
I Am More: OBJ will follow Beckham — who is the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver, after signing a $95 million five-year deal with the New York Giants last month — and chronicle his recovery from a year-old ankle injury. The series will also cover Beckham’s pre-game rituals, his life off the field, and his love for fashion. As part of the deal, Beckham will also turn to Facebook Live throughout the season after games to take questions from fans. Behind-the-scenes extras from the docuseries will also be published on Instagram
, where Beckham counts 11.5 million followers.“My love for this game should never be questioned, nor do I take the game of football for granted,” Beckham said in a statement, per Variety. “I want to share my grind with my fans in a way I haven’t done before. Uninterrupted and Facebook will show my life as more than an athlete.”
Facebook Watch has previously aired docuseries starring noted quarterback Tom Brady and basketballer Dwayne Wade.
