Tuneful Social Star Kenzie Nimmo Delivers ‘Bones,’ Her First Single

Kenzie Nimmo is offering up an original song on iTunes and Spotify. Nimmo, who first gained prominence thanks to the 600 million loops she received on the six-second video service Vine, has shared a track called “Bones,” which serves as her first-ever single.

On Vine, Nimmo stood out from the pack thanks to her powerful, emotional voice. After that platform shut down, she continued to cultivate her audience on platforms like Instagram and YouTube, gathering more than 300,000 followers on both of those services.

Like many other artists with sizable digital followings, Nimmo initially focused her efforts on cover songs, but over the past couple of years, she has shared several original pieces with her fans. “One of the things I love about songwriting is that its the best way, and sometimes the only way, to get the demons out of my head,” she told Tubefilter. “Bones” is specifically about one of those demons, which Nimmo describes as “a pretty bad heartbreak.” The finished product, she said, is “a song for me from me.”

Nimmo has often played “Bones” at live appearances, and many of her fans have resonated with the song’s message. “I’m funding my own music (which is really scary and time/money consuming), and I just knew that “Bones” would be my first single because of how special it’s been to me, and to those who have been following my journey these past few years, from YouTube to Vine to investing in myself and my music,” she said. “After playing it on tour every night, and fans begging me to release it for over two years now, I wanted to start this journey by thanking those who’ve been with me for so long.”

“Bones” is available via iTunes here and via Spotify here. A lyric video for the song can be found on Nimmo’s YouTube channel.
