YouTube’s watch time on connected TVs is trending upward, and fitness is one category that has been affected by the rise of devices like Google Chromecast. Workout videos are not just popular choices for bigger screens; instead, they show different behavior from many other types content. A Think With Google study noted that TV watch time for YouTube fitness videos spikes on Tuesdays, which starkly contrasts the viewership pattern of other genres.
As part of its report, Think With Google shared a graph that, while frustratingly short on labels, shows that YouTube fitness video viewership on TVs rises on Tuesday. Other categories dip and instead see their biggest viewership period over the weekend.
It’s not just YouTube, either. Think With Google notes that its data is consistent with a previous study from fitness startup ClassPass that marked Tuesday as the most popular workout day. Evidently, health-conscious viewers are giving themselves a Monday reprieve before diving into their weekly Blogilates routine.
