Fuller House

Report: ‘Fuller House’ Ratings Are Bigger Than ‘The Walking Dead’, Sunday Night Football

While Fuller House was largely panned by critics, a new ratings report suggests that the sitcom could be the biggest television series out there right now. Netflix doesn’t disclose ratings — and released all 13 episodes of Fuller House at once in February — but multi-screen analytics company Symphony Advanced Media, which uses audio content recognition from cell phones to track viewership, says the revamp is one of the most-viewed series of the year — even moreso than The Walking Dead and Sunday Night Football.

Fuller House episodes averaged 14.4 million viewers among adults aged 18 to 49 within the first 35 days of the show’s premiere, IndieWire reports. Exactly one week after its launch, the series had clocked the majority of those views — a staggering 10 million. And Fuller House had a palpable impact upon overall TV watch time on the Friday that it launched, when usage plummeted 3%.

Though it isn’t exactly a one-to-one comparison given the distribution disparities, The Walking Dead

averaged 12.1 million viewers in the 18 to 49 demographic, according to IndieWire, while Sunday Night Football averaged 9.9 million, Empire averaged 8.4 million, and The Big Bang Theory averaged 7.4 million.

Fuller House isn’t the only ratings juggernaut that Netflix has on its hands. According to data from Symphony, Making A Murderer also garnered a stunning 13.4 million viewers aged 18 to 49 in the 35 days following its premiere. Unlike Fuller House, however, Making A Murderer flew under the radar initially before snowballing into a major hit, IndieWire reports.

Other popular Netflix shows include Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which attracted an average of 6.3 million viewers aged 18 to 49 throughout the 35 days after its release, as well as House Of Cards (4.9 million), F Is For Family (4.8 million), and Master Of None (4.5 million).
