YouNow, ‘America’s Got Talent’ Partnership Generates More Than A Million Views

A unique partnership forged last December between America’s Got Talent and YouNow — in which the millennial-leaning streaming platform hosted open auditions for the forthcoming 11th season of the reality competition series — looks to have drummed up serious viewership.

Over the course of the nine-week audition period, America’s Got Talent producer Adam Davis appeared on YouNow and invited prospective contestants onto his broadcasts as guests for a chance to share their talents. All told, the series of 13 broadcasts generated 1.3 million views, YouNow told Tubefilter, with an average of 100,000 views per stream.

Additionally, a total of 14,000 people were in the guest cue in hopes of landing an audition, and audience members engaged with contestants (via likes, comments and gifts) more than 500,000 times, YouNow said.

And while a lionshare of the auditions were held from the FremantleMedia

offices in California (which is the production company behind America’s Got Talent) or while Davis was on the road, he flew to New York for the final round to broadcast directly from YouNow’s New York City headquarters overlooking Times Square.

America’s Got Talent holding live auditions on YouNow brings the opportunity for talent to be discovered within anyone’s reach,” YouNow CEO Adi Sideman told Tubefilter.

This isn’t YouNow’s only partnership of late with a major player in traditional media. Earlier this month, the company hosted a contest with iHeartRadio in which Hailee Steinfeld fans were invited to stream themselves covering her latest single, Rock Bottom, live on YouNow. The winner, chosen by fans, received a chance to meet Steinfeld.
